Addie's First Easter

Holidays are so much fun with a baby! The Easter bunny was good to Addie this year and left her one basket at our house and another basket and Grandma's house! Addie got some blankets, paci's, teething toys, a stuffed bunny, bib, headband, bath toy, and a few other things. Jarom was disappointed though that the bunny didn't leave him any candy in Addie's basket...

We spent Saturday with Jarom's side of the family and had an Easter egg hunt, the kids dyed eggs, and we ate chicken caesar sandwiches and strawberry shortcake (yum!) and then just spent time together celebrating Michelle's 49th birthday. Jarom helped Addie find some eggs out in the yard... they only found 1 egg, Aunt Lexi gave them another egg, and they found a golf ball.... not too successful of a hunt, but she's got many more to come. We really enjoyed having the Haynie's in town. I'll post some pictures soon of their visit.

Today we went to church then went to Mom's for Easter dinner and had a big feast of ham, fruit salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, deviled eggs, candied carrots, carrot cake, and tons more. It was SO good, I hate that I weigh in tomorrow instead of this morning! I cooked a ham for the third time today and it turned out like barbecue rather than a ham... don't get me wrong, it still tasted good, but it needed to be on a bun, not in an Easter dinner! So I am officially done cooking the hams, Mom will have to trade spots with me next year and I'll make the sides, she can cook the ham. I am just not meant to be a chef! Addie looked too cute in her Easter dress and we have photos scheduled for Thursday to have her Easter pictures made. The basket the Easter bunny left at Mom's had a Johnny Jumper, a few onsies, two sweatshirts for this coming winter, some baby food, and a few other fun things.

So look above in the collage at the cute "carrots" I made of silverware... isn't that adorable?! I was quite proud that for once I did something crafty! Addie has turned into such a fun little baby. She is getting to that stage where she loves to play and tries to eat everything. She is constantly sucking on her hands and fingers and gags herself often when she gets too carried away. Over the last few weeks she has started doing this deep laugh when she laughs out loud. It is so funny and I will act like a crazy person to get one from her. She loves her toes and constantly tries to eat them too. How in the world did I end up with such a sweet little girl?!

I really do enjoy reading your blog! You have such a wonderful family! Holidays are really fun with children. As long as I am alive, Forrest and Sadie will have an Easter basket from the Easter Bunny, gifts under the tree from Santa, Valentines from cupid, etc. In other words, I'll take any excuse to spoil them!
