PCB Vacation Day 2

I have SO many pictures from the beach, the thought of editing all of them is overwhelming. So I am obviously very far behind...

We took Addie out to the beach as soon as she woke up the next morning and she loved every second of it. She brought handfuls of sand to everyone and loved being in her float in the ocean.
Very determined to get sand to everyone...

Dad digging out his hole, it's something he does every year at the beach
We played on the beach for several hours then headed to the pool for another 30 or 40 minutes, then finally up to the room for lunch and naps. Addie begged to go back down instead of her nap, but after some tears slept so hard. After three hours of napping, I was tired of being in bed, so I headed back down to the beach and not long after, here came Jarom and Addie.

We had dinner duty and fixed pasta salad and pizza, and after cleaning up I sat down to read, so Addie grabbed a book someone else had brought and joined me. A perfect day!

PCB Vacation Day 1

Addie's first time to the beach! We packed up and headed out at 5:30 AM Sunday the 9th beach bound to Panama City Beach, Florida. We had company over late the night before, so I didn't start packing until around midnight, and ended up finishing around 2. We were exhausted, but excited. Addie was not thrilled... We had 10 people at the beach- Jarom, Addie, Me, Dad, Mom, Katie, Scott, Becky, Ryan, and Uncle Bob.

Finally we got to the beach and Addie was not wanting a nap-we had hyped up the water to keep her excited to be in the car, so she wouldn't quit asking for the water. We drug our exhausted selves down to the beach to let her play before we crashed. It was her first time to see sand or the water, and she was hesitant at first, but quickly warmed up to it.

Addie's First Haircut-August 8th, 2009

So I am behind at posting, but I spent 7 nights at the beach... heaven.

The Saturday before we left I got Addie and I both an appointment with Lynne, my hairdresser that has been out with a broken wrist for a few months... I was in desperate need of a trim! I got my hair cut and then Mom brought Addie over for her first cut. Addie wasn't so sure about getting up in the chair, but after Lynne let her hold a brush, she was fine. Addie was loving that her little cape had fish all over it. Lynne uses this new french technique where she has you stand to cut your hair. It apparently helps so that you don't overcut the hair. (Oh and the long hair on the floor is mine... I had a ton cut off, I didn't realize how long my hair had gotten!)Addie preening while Lynne goes to get her a prize for doing so well. She ended up having about an inch cut off because I didn't want it too short, so she'll need another trim to get rid of all of the finer baby hair, but it still turned out much cuter!

Stay tuned for beach pictures so you can see some of her cute new do!

This and that

Addie loves her shopping cart (poo present). She plays with it constantly. Today for nap I put her in her bed to scream herself to sleep (after trying for an hour to get her to sleep nicely) and she started yelling she needed to potty. I had just taken her 20 minutes before and figured she was just trying to make an escape, but then she stopped screaming potty and then goes "ewww Mom, potty!" Crud. She wasn't kidding. I told her if she didn't get poos in the potty, I'd take the cart away, and even though I guess she was telling me before it happened, I was kind of mad and took her cart away (put in on the kitchen counter). So later today Addie says "mom potty!" so I get her off the chair so she can go and she says "no mom!" walked into the kitchen and pointed to her cart and blabbed something about "want that" then ran to the potty and peed. Then she hopped up and ran back into the kitchen and pointed again, asking for it. I felt slightly guilty for taking it away and gave it back to her. She was more than pleased. Addie is talking more and more each day. She now loves for us to dance with her during So You Think You Can Dance and as soon as a song comes on she looks and Jarom and I and says "Dad, Mom, DANCE!" so we all dance to each song. I've got to get her dancing on video, she really gets down. She loves trucks lately (cruck) and whenever she sees one she thinks its Jarom's truck and says "Daddy woowrk" because he drives his truck to and from work. She also has mastered "where is he/she/whatever" and asks me about a thousand times a day "Daddy? Where is he? Ahh worwk?" She also is fascinated by babies and bottles and says "ooohhhh baby's bot-tle" whenever she sees a baby drinking from one.

I've got a major hypochondriac on my hands. She also obsesses over "booboos" now and whines about her booboos long after they have even healed. She seriously hasn't forgotten a single scratch over the last several weeks and wants us to kiss them constantly. She tells me "oh mommy...hurt...booboo hurt." And one last Addie moment... she has started asking to go "night" when she is sleepy at night and is asking me right now to go night and to get her a bow (we always put a felt clip in her hair to keep it out of her face while she sleeps).

We love summer fruit and I try to buy lots of watermelon and peaches when they are in season. Addie can seriously eat her weight in watermelon. She eats a ridiculous amount every day.

Jarom, Addie, and now I all have colds. I thought I had missed it but then at the end of last week I started to get it. I hope it all clears up before our trip! Whenever Addie sneezes, this is what we get. It is the only time she doesn't freak out when I try to wipe her nose.
Nice.Sam, Jarom's little brother stayed with us last week and we went swimming last Wednesday (Addie hasn't been since she was 6 months old). She wasn't super excited about it for a while, it was cold! She clung to either me, Jarom, or Sam most of the time, but learned it was fun to jump off the side into our arms and we had a good time. I didn't bring my camera (darn it!).
That's all for now. I've got to get one sleepy girl to bed!

6 Days

Until the beach! I really can't wait but at the same time I am trying to figure out how exactly I can tone my body/tan in a week... :) The budget doesn't cover lipo right now :) and I've done the spray tan thing (so not good when it starts to wear off...). I am seriously so white I think I might blind others. So if you hear reports of people losing their eyesight at PCB, you can know that it was my doing.

Addie is doing really well with her potty. We had a poo issue, but after some persuasion (promises of trips to the toy store if she made it in the potty) we solved it! Addie is one shopping cart happier and I don't have to change pooey panties anymore, woohoo! Nothing like some good ole bribery to solve something! I think I am now brave enough to go to the beach without swim diapers.

Also, does anyone know how to get their kids to use a big potty? Addie will only go on her little potty so I have to tote the stupid thing everywhere I go. I seriously think I'll have to bring it out on the beach! :) I haven't bought one of those rings that go on the potty's, I guess I need to do that.
