little blessings

I am so thankful for the promptings of the holy ghost, no matter how small. I've had promptings to do things before and ignored them in a hurry and realized after the fact my mistake. Luckily this time I listened.

I got a call from the bank needing one last thing before we closed Friday on Wednesday afternoon. In the mad rush to get closed and moved from our starter home and to buy the new home, I got a little prompting to review the document I had gotten from the company that handles our finances, that I had submitted earlier to the mortgage company for underwriting. I almost pushed the thought aside (thinking I don't have time to stop right now!!), but stopped, sat down, and opened the document for review. Upon doing so I found mistakes (not intentional) that would have led to our mortgage being denied (the underwriter would have thought we were trying to provide fraudulent papers and I remember having to deny people loans for the same thing). I was able to then call the bank, retract the document (since I used to work there they understood and deleted it before the underwriter saw it), and get a correct replacement for them and close on our home. Had I not listened to the promptings, we probably wouldn't have our new home now.

I am so grateful for the gospel and the blessings and promptings we can receive if we just stop and listen. What a blessing the gift of the holy ghost is if we use it!!!

Quick update

Addie's little virus didn't last very long and by the next morning she was a happy girl! We also ended up not being homeless! We got our closing for the sale of our home moved to tomorrow morning and we close on our purchase tomorrow afternoon. We are being allowed to move our stuff into the garage of the new home today and put our bed in the master tonight so we'll sleep at the new house tonight so we aren't in a scramble to move the bed in the morning. I'm so sad to be getting rid of my little first home. I thought I was SO ready to move and now I'm so sad to leave this house. I hope the new owner loves it and takes good care of it. I'll miss our gigantic back yard (as will our dogs) and I'll miss having my uncle next door to run to for things. I hope our new neighbors are good!

Sick but at least we won't be homeless for long...

Poor little Addie woke up really early this morning crying and crawled into my bed burning up. I took her temp and she had a low grade fever but no other symptoms. I had some new house errands that HAD to be done today so Mom came to watch Addie and brought her some Popsicles to get her to eat something. They must have helped because after a bit I got a call from Mom telling me that Addie was asking for a fish. Haha, that little stinker will not stop asking for a fish. (She's been wanting a fish for a few weeks but I told her she had to earn the money for it herself before she could buy one so she gets money by keeping her panties dry, cleaning her messes, and helping me cook and clean.) By afternoon her fever hit 104.1 F and she was miserable! I gave her some Motrin and she tried to nap but kept jerking awake crying. Finally the Motrin kicked in, her fever was down to 100 and she felt good enough to eat some dinner. I had picked her up some chicken noodle soup with fish shaped noodles so Addie was really excited to eat dinner and since she hadn't shown any sick stomach symptoms I let her eat the soup, crackers, half a roll, and a Popsicle. To get Addie to eat sometimes we make her food "talk" or play games with her, so I was making her fish "ask" to go to her tummy. After about 12 spoonfuls of soup she leaned over, looked at the fish on the spoon and said "Fish, I am FULL!!!!" Haha!

Tonight her fever shot back up but after some more Motrin she was feeling better and ate a snack before bed of cantaloupe and goldfish crackers. So I guess this is just a fever virus because her tummy seems to be fine. I hope it only lasts the night so we can start counting down the hours until we can leave the house without passing along germs! And I really hope Jarom, Mom, or I don't catch it!

By the way... we bought the house we were considering in the historic district in 5 points, had the home inspection, and are awaiting the radon test results. We'll still be in the same ward but a much better elementary and middle school zone. We'll just have to move before Addie is in high school or request a transfer. We've requested repairs from the sellers so I hope they will agree to them all! We will have a lot to do to the house when we move in but hopefully it will all go smoothly! I was going to post a picture of the house but it's been pulled off MLS since it's under contract. We close on the 28th and currently close on our home on the 24th, so I am trying to push it to the 28th so we won't be homeless for 4 days! If they won't let us push it back then lookout Mom, we are sleeping over for a week! So now just to pack up and move... eek! If anyone gets bored and needs something to do (once Addie is better of course) then come on over and help me pack up some boxes! ;)

Stress

Bear with me while I complain a bit...

Stress is:

Trying to find somewhere to move to...

while almost 5 months pregnant
when you only have a couple of days to do so
while planning/throwing a baby shower for a great friend who is OCD like me
while packing up your entire house by yourself because the hubs works long hours
when you have 5 years of crap everywhere
while pregnant
while trying to keep your much needed family vacation still a "go"
while trying to keep up with laundry
while trying to keep the house clean
while pregnant
and with a 2 year old that has the most fun pulling out ALL of her toys and bringing them into the living room
with appraisers, realtors, and inspectors coming over
when you can't sleep at night because you have restless leg going on because of being pregnant (I wanted to cut my leg off last night)
while trying to settle an insurance claim
when you don't know if you should buy a house just because it has most of your criteria...but not all
when that said house needs lots of renovating (think old lady wallpaper, bad vinyl, bad cabinets, horrible tiled bathrooms, brass fixtures everywhere, horrible gazebo...)
while pregnant
while trying to stay happy and positive so my baby doesn't come out grumpy and frowning
when you can't stand living in a mess...

Do you feel like crying yet... because I certainly do!!! Pregnancy hormones are getting me bad.

growing on up!

My little girl has made it to the 2nd percentile in weight (she's 23 lbs)! She still is about average in height but she is climbing onto the growth charts for weight ever so slowly! I tried to see if we could cut out her calorie supplement (the bottle of whole milk with instant start breakfast in it to make sure she drank every drop) but the doctor wants her higher on the charts first. Oh well! I did finally get the go ahead to switch her supplement to breakfast instead of bedtime and was told if she didn't drink it all it is finally okay- so YAY no more bottles!!! I hope this doesn't include a fight at bedtime! (She fell asleep before we even got jams on tonight)

Addie has this weird love for the doctor. Anytime she gets a bump or bruise she asks to go to see the "doc-tuh". So finally when her three weeks of allergies turned nasty green today I made an appointment. (I've called the doctor a few times over these weeks to make sure it was nothing more than allergies- she had no fever or anything like that) Anyways, Addie was THRILLED.

This time instead of sitting in my lap for the exam like usual, she wanted to sit on the table, she did everything the doctor asked her to do and she even was excited to take her medicine tonight... even the nasal spray. She's never been a pill at the doctor, but always been really shy and didn't want to sit on the table, so Dr. C and the other doctors always just did the exams with her in my lap. I'm hoping she keeps on loving the doctor! She got a sticker after and we got an ice cream cone while we waited on her prescription to be filled. *she has a sinus infection like I figured

In the WHOLE world!!

Addie has been so sweet lately showering me with lots of kisses and hugs. I'm really trying to savor our time together with just the two of us before sweet little Livy is here and Addie's time has to be shared, so we've had tons of cuddling and kisses and hugs. Addie has been really good at telling us stories lately about things that have happened or what she wants to go do and she's talking in long sentences now. She keeps us laughing all the time. Her newest thing to tell me is "Mom, you are my best girl (or girl friend) in the WHOLE world!!!" I guess she has picked this up from me saying things like that to her, but it still makes my heart melt! I know I say this every month Addie gets older, but I really LOVE this age!
