Unfortunately, not sound effects...

Addie thinks it is hilarious to poot lately. In the bathtub Wednesday night Addie pooted and I see bubbles come up and she gasps and then starts laughing. I said "did you poot?!" she looked at me with a grin and said "I did it!". That would have been funnier, but then she decides to try again (she can force gas out.... you'd think she was a boy!). So she starts to try again, I'm saying "NO Addie" because I am afraid of the outcome. She gets a ton of bubbles that time and starts giggling until the poo follows. Then none of us were laughing. Ug.

(PS. we hadn't had a poo in bathtub experience in many months until Wednesday. Luckily there hasn't been a recurrence).

Addie sound effects

We seriously have WAY too much fun playing with Addie these days. She really did make these sounds on her own.

PS. Yes, that is Addie's bed by ours. She still sleeps in our room, but she sleeps all night. If she does wake up she sees me in the next bed and lays back down and goes to sleep. It works for us!

Katie

Katie came over the other day while I had my camera out, so I took a few shots of her too. We seriously needed to cut our lawn!

It's Been Forever

Since I blogged a picture! Seeing Addie in comparison to babies makes me realize how big Addie is getting. Her 12-18 month pants are still huge in the waist, bum, and legs, but are now getting too short. Why don't they make tall lengths in baby clothes like they do for kids? Addie is growing too fast and is into climbing on everything. She thinks the house is a jungle gym and I am constantly pulling her off the back of the couch, coffee table, the shelves in the bathroom, pretty much everywhere. She knows how to climb off beds and can no longer be contained.

Addie & Maclane playing Ring Around The Rosie...it was too cute!

Addie also has become fascinated with makeup. She occasionally finds away to climb up to wherever I think it is safely stored and will apply it.

Addie repeats most anything you ask her to now when she is in the mood. If she's not in the mood, forget it. You'd think she didn't say a word. She thinks its funny to say "no" and says it so sweetly. A few of the words she has been saying a lot lately are ssshhhhuus (shoes), elloow (yellow), up, tott (Scott), kitty, hungry (or numnum) among others. She's got a pretty good vocabulary now and can communicate really well with us (or at least with me and Jarom). Her phrases include "Where'd dad go" (or "Where'd _whatever_ go") "I'm here" "I want dat" "all done" "I'm hungry" & "what you doing". She's always saying something new and making us laugh, I've started writing down all of her words and phrases, and the list is getting pretty long, which is good because I couldn't remember even half of what she said until I started making a list as she would say things (Thanks Carly for the good idea!!).

When Maclane came over to our house a few weeks ago we discovered they had almost the exact same dress, so I changed Addie into hers.

Addie has learned the art of manipulation and can pitch quite the tantrum. She will throw herself down, look around to see if anyone is watching, then if we are, she'll cry. I've learned to ignore her or walk off and she will fuss for a second or two and then gets up and follows after me. Addie has become a handful at church and I've had to resort to serious bribes to get her to sit and be quiet (i.e. M&Ms during RS). Only a few more weeks until she's old enough for nursery. I am in disbelief that she'll be 18 months old soon. I am really nervous about sending her... all of the germs, runny noses, dirty toys, and bullies...ahhh!!! My germaphobic side is going nuts!

Addie and Maclane love each other SO much, it is so sweet to see them play.

I love this picture of Maclane.
Oh and finally a couple of cute things Addie has done lately. She adores shoes. She has been really good at repeating words lately, so I try to tell her what most things are. We went to the mall with Ashley and Maclane today and Addie saw the little girl shoes and got super excited "ssshuus ssshuus mom!!!" and kept repeating it over and over again and was sad to leave. She also loves to feed us and feels the need to do so all the time. Tonight I washed some blueberries (after we finished off ALL of the strawberries) and Addie would carefully pick out two (one for each hand) and then would go feed them to Jarom. And finally... I think we have been eating out too frequently lately. When Addie sees me pull up to a drive through she goes "num num, mmmm mom, cookie, hungry". It reached an all time bad today though when we were driving and Addie sees a burger king building and goes "MMM Mom, NUM NUM!!!". Seriously child.

Moms!

Today was Mother's Day. I love Jarom having diaper duty for a day!!! Addie made my day by showering me with kisses without me even asking for them, and I got some beautiful artwork from my dear daughter. She feels the need to color EVERY part of every surface and so my cards were very um... artistic... :) Addie and Grandma baked me a special cake and had a photo album full of the documentation of each step and Addie picked out a balloon and a glass dog (her thing not mine, but now I love it), but got too excited with the balloon and ripped the string off of it, resulting in a lost balloon... For our next family night, Jarom got these stepping stone kits to put Addie's hands and feet in so I will have those for my backyard walkway that we are working on. The plan is to do these stones every year until I have enough for a big stepping stone walkway.

I never thought I'd enjoy being a stay at home mom, Jarom admitted that he thought I'd have to work and that I'd go insane at home. But surprisingly to all of us, I love it. I went back to work for two months when she was little for insurance purposes and hated every minute of it. I was only at work for two hours, I'd come home for an hour for lunch to feed Addie, and then go back for two hours, only four days a week, but it seemed like I missed out on so much. I have my days when it'd be easier to work outside the home, but then Addie will give me a big kiss out of no where and make it all worth it. I now regret all that I put my mom through growing up and wonder how she didn't (and still hasn't) killed all three of us kids. I love my Mom and am so grateful to her and her example. I'm also grateful that my mother in law didn't kill my husband as he grew up, I have heard the stories of what a stinker he was!

Good news and bad news... my father in law can rescue all of my data from my laptop, but my laptop is probably not worth fixing. He said parts and such will be more than the computer is worth, and I know its true (its a cheapo computer)... So for now, I have to steal Jarom's laptop he uses for work once he's done in the evenings and wait to download all of my pictures until we have the monies for a new computer. Boo.

Sad sad week. (But with a good too!)

My computer crashed. Every time I try to turn it on it says "fatal sytem error" "crash memory dump" and other scary phrases. ALL of my pictures of Addie are on that computer. My CS4 picture editing software is on that computer. Holy moly. What will I do? I have loads of pictures on my camera dying to be edited... I have Dallas pictures, Addie's first self-makeup job (yep, she got ahold of my eyeliner and did a fantastic job on her eyes), and others that are screaming to be posted. Jarom doesn't know how to fix my computer. My FIL will be here tomorrow from OK so I might try to enlist his help.

PS. Jarom and I have invested in a new venture and are part owners of a new store in Madison! Easy Auctions had its grand opening today and we had a great time (once Jarom fixed the A/C!). Easy Auctions is a store where you bring in your stuff you don't use anymore or things you'd like to sell, we list it on ebay and do the rest, and you get your check in the mail once it sells (or you can pick up the monies). So if you need anything sold and don't have the time or know how to do it, bring it to us!!! The store is located on Hwy 72 just west of Hughes on the left 2 doors before Sonic. More details to come later!
