SAHM at Last!!!

Today was my first official day of being a stay at home mom and it was WONDERFUL! I got up, made Jarom breakfast and packed him a lunch, ate, got back in bed with Addie and watched the Today show while she slept. Later in the afternoon I walked with Mom, made dinner for Jarom, Ben, and Uncle Bob, and then watched TV once I got Addie to sleep. I didn't have to stress over work and got a full day with my baby girl without the dread of the upcoming work day. I so look forward to my upcoming years as a SAHM and hope Addie will appreciate it as much as I appreciate my Mom staying home with us.

I'm bursting!

I love my little family so much I feel like I could burst! Do you ever just have those days where you just can't stop staring at your baby and your husband thinking how lucky you are? Today was one of those days for me. Just looking at Addie sometimes makes me so happy I could cry. I guess that is what motherhood is all about. I am so fortunate to have my little family.

Toothy Two

Addie's second tooth is trying to make it through her gums and she is miserable! You can see it just below the gum so I imagine it will be here by Wednesday or so. She is chewing all over everything again and bit me while nursing the other day! I let out a yelp and she just looked at me then continued nursing. The little booger!

Sunday was Stake Conference so Jarom and Addie dressed as twins! Great Grandma Brimhall bought Addie this cutie dress in Tulsa when we visited last fall. Thank you, we love it! Jarom wears a suit every Sunday since he teaches, but I was able to get him in a colored shirt yesterday. They looked too cute so of course I had to take pictures.

Today we went on a walk, but forgot and left the stroller at Mom's so we had to use just a little sit up one I had bought at a yard sale. Addie was okay for about half a mile and then Grandma had to rescue her and carry her for about half a mile until she fell asleep and then we pushed the stroller on two wheels the rest of the way so that she was leaned back. We spoil her...

Poor Great Grandma Mawmaw fell from the top stair on my parents front porch Saturday night and broke her wrist really bad. They saw a specialist today and they are going to have to do some serious reconstruction on it with pins or plates. She also cut up her face really bad and has a ton of stitches and a black eye. We hope she heals quickly!

Addie's friend Maclane has started wearing her hair in little pigtails and such so we decided to give Addie a pony tail... She didn't really mind it, but I think we'll wait for her hair to get a little longer before I torture her more. Maclane and Addie are so cute together, I'm glad they'll be in all the same church classes and Ashley and Skyler are good friends to me and Jarom, so it works out really well!

Can you see her little pony tail?

Well Addie is getting restless so time to go for now!

And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. Addie is getting so big!

My Loves!
So this is my 3rd post for today, I am finally getting caught up! Addie and Jarom are asleep, so I finally have some time to blog. I wanted to post some pictures of Addie, she is getting so big so fast!
Addie loves to stand up. At church on Sunday, it never fails that during Jarom's lesson in Sunday school, Addie gets fidgety. The only way to get her to be quiet is to let her stand up like she's a big girl on the ground or to walk outside with her. So in an attempt to hear the lesson Jarom planned I usually try the standing tactic first. She looks so funny because she is so tiny when she stands on the ground. After all, she is only 2 feet tall!

I love Jarom's job because he gets spiffs and points. We got this bebepod off of his points the other day and Addie likes to sit in it because she gets to sit upright.

Addie loves to be entertained constantly... I had her acting silly this afternoon, I love her little laugh!

We started cereal last week and Addie didn't like it until I mixed it with breastmilk. Now she eats it like crazy and sometimes I have to fix a second bowl for her! The bad thing is that when she sees me eating soup or something out of a spoon, she starts smacking her lips together and opening her mouth like she wants to eat.

Addie is SO LOUD! She gets frustrated at her toys when they don't cooperate and will start screaming at them. She has a temper! Mom was videoing this and talking to me on the phone until I got there for lunch one day so the video is shaky in parts and when I came in I didn't think it was taping... so just ignore me and mom and listen to my little loud mouth frog!

I can't believe how time flies! My little baby is growing up and will be big before I know it!

Haynie's Visit Home

So better late than never right??? I am so busy lately with work, church, home, and Addie that I don't have a ton of time to blog. Addie is at a point where she doesn't just sit contently for hour on hour, she wants to be entertained, so there goes my blogging time!

Over spring break, the Haynie's came down for a visit. We were glad to see them and they got to see Addie for the first time. Nuna brought Addie a beautiful afghan and some adorable burp cloths that she made. Addie loved the attention and we had a great time! Here are some pictures from their trip.

Lacey and I went to Kids Market and I got Addie lots of cute clothes, Lacey, X, & Chase came over Saturday night for dinner, the Haynie's came over for Sunday dinner, we went to Longhorn for dinner on Tuesday (it was SO GOOD!), we had a girls night in of makeovers, pizza, and movies on Friday, and we had a fun Easter/birthday party for Nuna on Saturday! It was a fun-packed week, and we were sad to see them head back to Tulsa. Hopefully we will all be together this summer for Carden's baptism!

Mmm...

For as long as I can remember, I have always looked forward to Fridays. Not only is it the start of the weekend, but I always get something good to eat. While my friend was pregnant we would eat at Little Rosies and get their chicken pocket tacos (amazing by the way). If we didn't eat that, then we would eat at Covingtons (a little frufru restaurant downtown). Fridays are the only day that Covingtons has their chicken tortilla soup! It is out of this world! When I get it, I buy it by the pint or quart because it is so good reheated too. Since I have had Addie, I rarely eat out for lunch. But today is a great day because Mom and I are eating it for lunch and then I'm buying enough for me and Jarom to eat for dinner. This soup is so good you have to call the day before to place your order or start calling early Friday morning because the line is always busy and the minute they open, it is gone! They literally have a line outside of people waiting to get it. Oh and even better, it is only like $4.60 for a pint. If you are super hungry, then get it with their chicken salad sandwiches or their citrus pecan salad... heaven.

So, the moral of the story is, if you live in Huntsvegas, get you some tortilla soup!

Addie's First Tooth!

Today I noticed Addie has her first tooth! It is her bottom left-middle one. I was wiping up some spit up when we were in the car and noticed it. Boy does she like to chew now! If my fingers get anywhere near her mouth she chomps down with her little tooth that is just barely poking through! What a little booger!

4 Months Old!

Addie turned four months old on March 30th! I can't believe how time has flown! Over the last month her little personality has really started showing and she is so funny. She loves to play and now wants to be entertained constantly. She loves to watch cartoons and will "talk" back to you all the time. She really brightens my days and we are so blessed to have her as ours!

Easter Sunday Addie woke up sick, all stuffed up with a little cough, but I just figured it would go away over time but by this past Sunday it was just worse. So after she couldn't sleep Sunday night due to all of her congestion I called the doctor for an appointment Monday morning. While we were there I got them to go ahead and do her 4 month checkup since we had an appointment this next week for it and I didn't want to go in again. They said she has a bad cold and she is teething... When they went to do the shots, the mean nurse that did them last time came in and I told the doctor I needed another nurse because she was too rough with Addie last time. So we got a nice nurse this time and Addie didn't cry at all during the oral vaccine and only cried a little during the shots. As soon as I picked her up she stopped crying and just yelled out a few times. She has gotten to where when she is mad she goes "rahh!" "rah!" Just little short yells to let me know she is not happy. What a little booger!

She had a reaction to the shots this time and had a fever for a few days and her little leg got all red, swollen, and feverish. Her little leg hurt so bad the first day that the only way I could hold her to nurse was to stand up and hold her like she was standing up so that she wasn't laying on the little spot on her leg. It was awkward but it kept her from crying and so I did it! She is much better now and I've got her sleeping through the night again.

Addie now weighs about 12.2 pounds and is 24 inches long. She is in the 23rd percentile in weight, but the doctor isn't concerned. She also got to start cereal Monday. I tried it Monday but she didn't feel good and wasn't interested. So I tried again Wednesday and she liked it a little better, but I mixed it with a little bit of breast milk instead of formula so I think it was more familiar to her. She ate a little and then fell asleep and didn't nurse last night like she normally does and didn't wake up all night so I was glad when she woke up!

We have been so busy lately I haven't had time to post, so I still have to post from the Haynie's visit! Addie laughs now a lot and I love to hear her little chuckle and will do ANYTHING to get her to laugh as you will see in the video. Doesn't she have just the cutest little laugh? Ooh, I could just eat her up!
