Picnic in the Park

Only a few more weeks of just "us" time, so today Jarom and I had a picnic at Big Spring Park and decided to bring the dogs... not the best idea we've had. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather, and so I made us some turkey sandwiches and sides and we headed downtown. The dogs really enjoyed the trip and had to stop and sniff everything, try to get the ducks, squirrels, and anything else that moved. We had fun but didn't stay too long as I have a hard time walking too far and the dogs were pulling Jarom in different directions at the same time. I brought my camera but of course it didn't work once we got there, and I forgot to bring the new camcorder Jarom bought me this week, so we had to pull out the camera phones, so the picture quality isn't too great.

We are at 34 weeks, Dr. Nix said he'll induce at 38 weeks, so only 4 more weeks to go! We had our house painted this week, so that is one thing I can check off my list. I bought 5 new light fixtures for our house to update the old gold painted ones, and we've gotten three installed so far, so that is on my list to do along with refinishing Addie's furniture, buying bedding and a large rug for Addie's room, setting up her room, cleaning her closet out, buying wall hangings for my house, etc... So much to do in such little time!!!

Catch Up!

Happy Birthday to Alisha! We love you and appreciate all you do!

I realized I hadn't posted in quite some time, we have been very busy working on the house, going to work, church, etc. We should finish the house on Queens this week and it is looking great!

We enjoyed seeing the Haynie's this week while they were in town. We didn't see them as much as we would have liked but did get some time together. Saturday the 13th we went to Kids Market and I bought Addie 60 items for ~$115. Not bad huh? She should be pretty well outfitted for the first several months. Lacey, Michelle and I just picked up everything we liked at first and ended up with a mountain of clothes and had to narrow it down considerably...
I am now 33 weeks pregnant and getting bigger by the minute! Jarom made a tamale casserole tonight for dinner so Addie feels the need to stretch after such a big meal. No matter how much I push her out of the way her little feet make their way back up to my ribs and push and push until she is comfortable thus making me VERY uncomfortable tonight. That will teach me to not eat spicy Mexican food again.
Jarom leaves for appliance training in Atlanta tomorrow and will be gone until Wednesday. This will be only the 2nd time I have ever been home alone and the 1st time it will be longer than one night.
We bought a crib this weekend from a lady here in Huntsville that we found on ebay and so I plan to paint and antique it while Jarom is gone. Alisha, I'm sure I'll be calling you to figure out how you did the headboard we have so I can make it look similar. Then come Wednesday I have hired painters to come in and repaint the inside of our home to get ready for Addie.
Isn't it wonderful to have handy people in the family? My sweet dad is patching all of the nail holes and cracks in our sheetrock so our house will be like new again once it is painted, I am so excited to have my house fresh with new paint! The guy that lived here before us felt a need to put at least 15 nails in each room along with anchors, etc. so there was a TON of patching to do... Hopefully the next time any of you see my home it will be beautiful!

12022 Queens Place Renovation

Today was a day spent working on the house at Queens all day. It was unusually hot for an October day but we got a lot accomplished. The remodel is going well, we should be done by the end of next week. The rest of the hardwood and carpet will be done by Saturday and then next week will be spent touching up paint, cleaning, and finishing touches. Today's big task was getting our huge pile of debris out to the city dump. Mom, Dad, and Scott worked on that while I laid out tile in the master bath. Jarom joined in once he got off work and he cut tile and got ready for another day tomorrow of laying tile. As you can see in the pictures, we have removed the wall from the den to the kitchen and put an island there instead, we have added new custom solid wood cabinets, added hardwood, widened the entries to the main rooms, rid of the wood paneling and pepto bismol pink paint that covered everything, and converted the converted room back into the garage it once was. We still have a good bit to go, but the light is definitely at the end of the tunnel! Meanwhile we continue to sweat through it (mainly Mom, Dad, and Jarom sweat... I try to help as much as I can) and we can't wait to be done! If you know anyone looking to buy a 4 BR/2 BA home let us know.

Titans Beat the Falcons!

Today Jarom and I went to the Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons game. It was fun but EXTREMELY hot! The Titans won 20 to 13. As you can see the whole ordeal made my feet swell and we both got sun burns, but it was fun to go to an NFL game since neither of us had ever been before. Jarom won a Vince Young jersey and we both got free Titans hats and car flags. Every time the Titans scored a touchdown they shot off fireworks which startled Addie and made her jump each time, poor little girl! She didn't know what to think about all the noise.

I'm now 31 weeks pregnant and have got to get started on Addie's nursery! Jarom and I are both procrastinators for sure.

Since we were at the game this morning, we missed General Conference but can download it and watch it on the church website tonight. We are definitely spoiled by technology.

We look forward to the Haynie's coming to visit this week! Only 4 more days until they are here!

Addison Elizabeth

Today we got our 4D Ultrasound and our little turkey looks like Jarom. She has his nose and eyes and has some chubby cheeks. She was stubborn the entire time and kept her hands and feet in front of her face. No matter what Jarom, the nurse, or I did she refused to budge those hands and feet out of the way. We tried prodding, poking, pushing, me flipping sides, standing, walking, eating candy, going to the bathroom, etc. and nothing would get her out of her slumber. She would occasionally stick out her tongue, open her mouth or slightly move her arms and legs but never would they leave her face area. Now of course she is kicking me like crazy and trying to dig her feet up under my ribs. Jarom and I really enjoyed our sneak preview of our little girl today. Only a few more weeks until we get to meet her. Isn't it funny how you can love someone so much when you have never met them?

Addie with a hand and arm across her chin and legs up by her ears

Addie with a foot? across her face (they cropped her leg? out of the picture so we could see her little chin).

We are so excited to meet our little girl. We got some really good shots of her hands and feet and little girl parts even though we could never get a full face picture. Now I can't help but grin whenever I think about her or feel her move. Putting a face to this little one inside of me really makes it feel "real".
