Yesterday...

I had my 38 week appointment yesterday to find out that I am now 3 cm and 80% effaced. Dr Nix offered to induce but I put it off. I've had some headaches the last few days which is unusual for me, my swelling has been a little worse and then the temporary nurse at the dr must've misread my blood pressure because it was much higher than usual. So the doctor sent me to be monitored at the hospital for a few hours. They took my blood pressure at the hospital and it was totally normal every single time they took it for the 2 hours I was there. What an expensive visit to just have a machine take my bp every 10 minutes and monitor baby's heart- $300! But better to be safe than sorry right?

Dr. Nix is having me come back in tomorrow for another check, so we'll see what happens. Jarom and everyone else wants me to induce but I still have things that need to be done so I'll probably put it off again if I can! I got almost all of my errands run today but still don't have the baby stuff out of storage yet (bassinet, clothes, tub, etc). I do have the car seat now professionally installed, the swing and bouncy chair ready to go, and enough outfits for a few days, so I guess I can make do if I have to, but would really love having everything ready and waiting for our little one! If I were to go ahead and have Livy tomorrow she'd have her birthday on the 22nd like mine (June 22) and Katie's (Nov 22)... fun!

Livy Update

I had my appointment today for 37 weeks and the doctor moved my due date to September 30th/October 1st which is what I had calculated. There wasn't much change, I'm still almost 2 CM and 70% effaced, but Livy has dropped. He wants to see me back Monday to check me and schedule induction.

All along this pregnancy I've said I didn't want to be induced because I wanted the whole experience of going into labor on my own since I was induced with Addie but now I'm starting to rethink it... The doctor is concerned about the baby getting stuck and being too large, and I definitely don't want a Cesarean or an episiotomy, so I am trying to decide what to do! I had Addie at 38 weeks 6 days I think, so if I were to do that again, that puts me at next Thursday...

I still have a TON to do around the house and a storage room full of stuff to be unpacked. I don't have any of my baby stuff unpacked, I've just been working on putting what is already in my house back together before I bring in loads of new things. So that is my dilemma... to induce or not to induce. Sigh.

Telling stories...

Addie has "stretched the truth" a few times recently so I've gotten onto her each time for "telling stories" (what we called it when I was little).

So yesterday I cut a watermelon in half and gave Addie a bite before I realized it was really mealy so I stuck it in a bag to return it. Addie came in a little later asking for some watermelon and I told her it was nucky and had to go back to the store to which she replied with a furrowed brow "momma, you tellin' storwies!" (I guess she likes mealy/mushy watermelon).

I had a hard time not laughing at her when I corrected her telling her that I don't tell her stories and that she can't talk like that to her momma unless she wants her bummy spanked. :) Ah the joys of my almost 3 year old!

Beach Trip Family Pictures

I love to take a family picture of us on vacation each year, it is so fun to look back over how much we change yearly. This year it was just the 3.5 of us at the beach, so I bought a tripod to help us out. This little girl ADORES her Daddy. When he sat down to get situated for the picture, Addie ran up and gave him a big hug.

Addie has to have her toes painted all the time. She thinks its a treat to get extras like flowers on her toes and she was so sad that part of her flower had come off. She gets especially upset if her toenails chip so we have to redo them all the time. :) 31 weeks pregnant!

This was the closest I got to a smile picture this year... oh well.
Addie just was being silly. Stinker! We had such a wonderful weekend, I have to say it was a completely perfect little "babymoon + Addie/family vacation" that I had so badly wanted, and Jarom really went out of his way to make it exactly what I had hoped for. Thank you sweetie, I love you!!

Beach Trip Part 2

Here are the last of the beach pictures... minus family pictures.

I forgot to mention we spent the previous evening at Pier Park (a bridge street type place). We had a Caesar salad (one of Addie's favorite things), pizza, and gelato at the Red Brick Pizza Oven. It was so good! They let Addie taste test every flavor of gelato (they only had about 6) and she didn't pick any of the "kid" ones that they said she'd love, she chose hazelnut chocolate... which turned out to be my favorite too. Addie makes me laugh with her "adult" taste buds.

I love her sassy little pose in this one! I haven't been putting Addie's hair up in pony tails to keep her hair from breaking off, but at the beach she insisted on having her hair up just like mine and now anytime my hair is up, she "needs" hers up too.
Building sandcastles She didn't like having messy hands and would go "wash them" in the ocean every few minutes.
Addie and Daddy going to play in the water
It was still REALLY hot that next day.
We played all day and then went to Pineapple Willy's that night. We ate on the pier and Addie thought it was too fun to eat. We finished off the evening by swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool where Addie loved jumping off the side into our arms... over and over and over again.

The last day that we were there we headed down to the beach after breakfast and the dark clouds rolled in less than 10 minutes later so we headed back up. It rained all day until about 4 pm. We hurried down as soon as the dark clouds were past and played as much as we could before dark.
Addie's gear she'd haul back and forth to the beach each day. I was proud of her for carrying most of her stuff!

It was such a great trip! Up next our family pictures.

Princess trumps boss.

Jarom and I have an ongoing battle with the recessed lights in the living room. I like them on, he likes them off. So tonight I went to turn them on and he protested. I was just passing through to the other room so I left them off only to hear the following conversation:

Addie: Daddy turn them on on on! (someone's been watching a lil' too much Dora)
Jarom: No, I am leaving them off
Addie: on
Jarom: I'm the boss and I said off!
Addie: Well I'm the princess and I say on!

LOL! Thank goodness for her, she and Jarom were being playful so she didn't get in trouble for being sassy!

Beach Trip Part 1

The first weekend in August I found a great deal on a condo in PCB Florida and got approval from the doctor to travel a little later in my pregnancy. Jarom was pretty much out of time off work, but I begged him to find a way to make it work with his schedule so we could have a little family vacation before our newest little lady arrived, and he was able to rearrange his weekly day off to give us a couple of days at the beach. Thanks hubby!!!

We got down to FL late that evening but were able to squeeze in a little beach time until it got too dark to see. Addie was SO excited to be there after the long drive!
The next day we played on the beach all day...That first full day at the beach was SO hot! There wasn't much of a breeze from the gulf that day so we roasted! See Addie's sweat on her nose?We knew we didn't have a ton of time to spend at the beach this year so we maximized our time on the beach by packing our lunch in a cooler each day to eat on the beach. It was so much fun to be able to stay down on the beach all day!Once we were exhausted from the heat, we cleaned up, took a nap, ate dinner out, then went on our tradition of a crab hunt. Jarom is such a thoughtful daddy and bought Addie her own flashlight before heading out to the beach.
Addie looking for crabs
We got down on the beach for the crab hunt and a man and son had caught a crab about the size of a dollar bill and Addie was fine to look at it, but when they let it go in the sand Addie freaked out crying like I haven't ever seen her be scared before. Bless her heart, it scared her to death! She was okay once I found her a "baby crab" though and even held it and loved it... to death. I told her it was sleeping when it wouldn't wake up the next morning. Oops.
Addie cheesing it up before dinner. She loves to have her picture made and asked me to take her picture on the balcony. Love this little girl!!!
More to come!

Not yet!

I had my weekly OBGYN appointment today and the doctor had to do another fun "check". In the past 2 weeks I've gone from no dilation and no effacement to 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced... WHAT?! I was sent to the hospital when I was 1 cm and 35-40% effaced with Addie! Dr. Nix told me to make sure my bags were packed for my next visit and I assured him there will be no baby having next week, are you kidding me??? He laughed then told me to have them ready.

I still have painters doing their thing, the house is a disaster, and I have a full garage AND storage unit to be unpacked before Livy can come! My calculated due date based on my cycle is October 1st, so a little sooner than the ultrasound has guestimated (4 days) but assuming my date is right that would put me at 37 weeks on my next appointment which is technically "full term". Oh geez.

Did I mention I need to do all of the above plus I want one week at least with Addie to do fun things that SHE wants to do. Painting her toes, going to the park, shopping (she loves it), playing dolls, kitties, little barbies, watching movies... things I won't have tons of time for once Livy gets here.

So baby Livy, stay on the inside for a few more weeks! We are excited to meet you but want/need to be prepared first or you'll be bathing in the sink and won't have any swaddling blankets or anything we have for you baby related unpacked! :)
