The 3 Pregnant Ladies

During my pregnancy with Addie I was able to share it with two of my sister-in-laws, Carly and Alisha as well as my friend and coworker Christy. It was great having someone to chat with about all of the changes in pregnancy so I was so excited to be able to share it this time with two of my very best friends, Victoria and Ashley! Victoria heads to the hospital tomorrow to start her induction with baby Christian, 12 weeks later I'll be having Livy, then 12 weeks after me, Ashley will be having her little bundle of joy! We really didn't plan it that way, but it is working out quite well! Last week was the last time we knew we'd be together for a ladies day before baby C arrived, so we spent the afternoon at Victoria's for lunch and girl time. I couldn't figure out the self timer on my camera for the life of me, so Addie ended up being our photographer, and I am pretty pleased with the job she did, she is really such a big helper!

In December I'll have to post a picture of the three of us with our little ones, but until then, here we our in our "glowing" glory for the last time together!

Addie's Thankfuls

I saw on Addie's handout from nursery today that they had learned about being "thankful". So on the way home I asked Addie what she was thankful for and this is what she said.

1. Jesus (melt my heart!!! I'm doing something right!)
2. My friends
3. My meow (her little stuffed black kitty she sleeps with)
4. My families (notice the plural! Jarom asked her if she had a lot of families and she said she did)
5. My toys
6. My two girls (I asked who the two girls were and she said "Avery and Kenny"...aw!)
7. Foods (she said her favorite food was "candy")
8. Lots of things (when we asked her to tell us what kinds of things Addie said "drinks in Nursery!")

So there you have it! The top 8 things Addie is thankful for!

airplane

Addie loves flying on airplanes. Yesterday Jarom was off work and I guess Addie thought since the last time Jarom was off we went on an airplane that we were going to go on another trip. Jarom had a dentist appointment before Addie woke up so when he came home she said "Dad, I want to go on an airplane!" to which Jarom responded "That costs to much money Addie". Addie then said "Daddy has lots of monies!!!" We both burst out laughing, if only that were true!

A little bit later she came in, after raiding her bank, with two fist-fulls of coins and told me she was ready to go on the airplane now. We told her she didn't have enough money so she came back in three more times with hands full each time of coins. I wish that were enough! :)

Hungry!

Do you have days where EVERYTHING sounds amazing and you want to eat it all??? Man, today my mouth is watering at the thought of so many foods! A trip to the grocery store might be needed fast! So today's dream menu if I were to have a personal chef and were able to eat this amount of food...

Brunch (actually making this meal now)
Cinnamon rolls
Bacon
strawberries
watermelon
grapes
milk

afternoon snack?? ;)
grilled cheese and tomato soup
grape juice (another thing I can't get enough of)

late supper
pizza rolls
salad
can I somehow squeeze cheesy potatoes in here???
orange cream floats

midnight snack
deviled eggs
chocolate fudge cake

It's got to be pregnancy related... right?

July 4th Sunday

My hectic schedule did not lend to me making Addie the cutie 4th dress that I bought all the supplies for, but luckily the little bit fit into a dress perfectly that I had intended her to wear last summer for the 4th... (it is a 12-18 month dress). I'm glad she got to wear it finally! I love her cheesy smile!
I know this one is kind of blurry but I love Addie's hair swinging around as she tried to grab the flag. She just had about an inch cut off a few weeks ago!I love that I can take pictures in my new back yard without being embarrased of the havoc the dogs have wrecked on it! Thank heavens for the garage in the corner of the property that gives the dogs the perfect dog run!!!
I was losing Addie's attention fast!
Addie after being told to "sit like a lady"
But the flower buds were just too tempting for Addie to turn around and pull off. Poor flowers!

Hope your 4th was as fun as ours! More on that later!

Girl's Trip to Nashville

I am behind on blogging, but have a REALLY good excuse! Since the end of May I have packed up our home of almost 5 years (3 months shy of), moved to another home, had it totally repainted and wallpaper stripped in 5 rooms, ordered new furniture, tried to unpack, turned 25, taken a week trip to Tulsa, OK, kept growing a baby (I'm now 6 1/2 months) and am trying to get my house together for the 4th of July company while fighting massive allergies! Whew, no wonder I've been so tired!

But in catching up...

The first weekend in May, Katie and I took Mom on a girls trip as promised on her birthday. I had booked a room in Brentwood, TN, just a few minutes outside Nashville and thank heavens I did!

A few days before our trip I got our gender ultrasound that told us we were having another little girl, so I was prepared for some shopping in Nashville! Weather reported flash flooding but we didn't want to cancel our trip... Jarom headed that same weekend with his coworkers to Memphis in May (a Big Spring Jam like concert series in Memphis, TN).

Friday morning we made the 2 hour trip to TN and ate lunch at Steak N Shake per Mom's request then headed on to the Nashville Zoo. It was SO hot and humid outside! Addie had a blast and wanted to wear the hat I brought for her which really surprised me. I love my tight squeezes from Addie! (and that isn't a can of dip in my pocket, it's my lens cap ;) )We rode the carousel 3 times I believe and Addie still didn't want to leave but it cost to ride and I quickly ran out of dollar bills. She loved the giraffes and the meerkats (she called them kitties... her favorite animal).

Checking out the giraffes
And this is what she was pointing at...

They had advertisements up all over the zoo for a new flamingo exhibit and Addie was super excited to see "pink birds". So we finally find the exhibit and it's still under construction... SERIOUSLY? We told Addie they were asleep but it was past naptime at this point and Addie was not happy to leave the zoo without seeing them.

Addie did like feeding the birds even though it did scare her a little...Addie also loved the turtles. I have a very small collection of glass turtles from my childhood and Addie found them when we moved and has played with them since (most are now missing legs and heads).

We took a nap back at the Hyatt and then headed out for dinner and found a Qdoba! YUM!!! They closed the Qdoba here so I have missed my steak queso burritos badly! After dinner we went all over Brentwood to find a Walmart so we could buy a DVD player for our room so we'd have nightly entertainment. We finally found one in the ghetto, got our dvd player, and rented Princess and the frog. Addie LOVED the movie.

The next day we were awoken super early with no power from the storms that had moved into TN. We had no power at the hotel for 3 hours or so, but they finally got it restored and we headed out to Opry Mills for shopping. The plan was to go to the mall, then go by the baby store I've been dying to shop at. Floods had other plans and after a few hours at the mall we headed out on the road to go back to our room for a bit and found that tons of roads were closed for massive flooding... what?! So we grabbed dinner to go at Longhorn and rented Old Dogs (super cute movie) and spent the evening in. Storms were really getting bad at this point and we were under tornado watches most of the night but we figured we'd be safer in the hotel than on dark flooded roads if we tried to go home early.

Jarom had decided to head home from Memphis early Saturday afternoon since it was all being rained out and on the way home he drove through two tornados and 4 feet of water! He couldn't see the road it was raining so hard and the radio said that he was in the path of two tornados but he couldn't even see to pull over so he just kept on going slowly. He luckily was in his large truck and was being watched over obviously, and made it home all in one piece. I'm so glad I didn't know he was doing that until it was all over!!!

Sunday morning early we started to head home. The redbox that we had rented our movie from was flooded so we had to find another one to return ours to, but after we got on the interstate it was smooth the rest of the way home. I'm so grateful that for some unknown reason (just a blessing I guess) I booked our room in Brentwood instead of the Opryland hotel that I had looked at because the mall we had been at and the hotel were both under 10 feet of water by Sunday. My car would've been totally underwater, we would've been stuck, and it wouldn't have been a good situation!

It was good to make it home but we've got to make another trip up there to the baby store soon before Livy gets here!
