My Little Girl's Growing Up!

Look at those lashes!

So I forgot about finishing this post after I started it a few weeks ago... but better late than never!

We had our 2 month check up at the doctor on Jan. 30th and Addie now weighs 9.13 lbs and is 23 inches long! She is in the 73rd percentile in height and 28th percentile in weight, so she is long and skinny. Dr. Cochran was pleased with her growth and routines and told me to let her sleep 12 hours if she would... yeah right! Addie had a poopy accident on their scales then on their examining table twice, haha... I warned them! Then came the bad part... shots!

Look at those ouchies on her legs...
We had an evil nurse that was too rough with Addie and resulted in blood running everywhere, I was upset and Addie was VERY upset. She wouldn't let me hold Addie until the whole thing was over (other nurses have let me before for heel pricks and such) and kind of pinned Addie down to the table. I dread the next set of shots and am going to ask for a different nurse! It is good to hear she is growing like she should and to have all my little worries answered/appeased.

Cheesing for MomAddie is such a doll and is a pleasure to be around. She loves to "talk" to me and just makes all kinds of noises including but not limited to "oooohhh" "guhh" "uhhh" "ma" "aahhh". It melts my heart when she grins when I peep into her bassinet in the mornings to get her up. She loves to stand up now and is grabbing my hair, face, ears, fingers or whatever she can get her hands on. Grandma Haynie sent us this sweet soft blanket that reminds me of a sheep's fleece that Addie LOVES! She just will stroke it and rub her little hands all over that blanket whenever I put it over her.

It's crazy to think how my life has changed so drastically in just 2 months. Here's to an eternity of these wonderful changes!

HOw sweet, we went to Avery's month check up today... that's my next post... haha isn't it great that babies make such good stories. My nurse was amazing, she did all four shots in like 10 seconds and there was very minimal blood and she let me pick up Avery and cuddle with her immediately. Your nurse needs to take a course and learn how to be gentle with our babies and take as little time as possible in the shot process and of course realize the hormones running through us and know our babies are the most important things in the world. Some people just don't know. Haha. I am a mess. Cute pictures. I love the one of Jarom and Addie looking at each other. So sweet. She is so little. It would take both of Addie's thighs to even compare to one of Avery's.

Oh and I guess I am logged into Michael's account, but this is of course Carly. Michael is not as hormonal.

I tell You what... If that was my nurse i'd tell her what for... I would be polite about it :D but I'd still have to let her know the business...
Nurses like that, that make parents have so many bad experiences is Exactly! the reason I choose to go to school to be a RN... and then hopefully keep going and become a nurse practitioner so i can get in a position a Really have the authority and tell those naughty nurses what For! lol

As for Addy! I have never had more fun watching Mother's be Mother's until I became one... It's exciting to see other women experiencing the Joys that Motherhood brings...
It's So much fun to compare growth & trade stories to other Mommy's, especially when their baby love is so close to the age of your own :)
I can't believe Addy is as big as she is already, she was super tiny, and it's just gonna keep going by faster... scarey thought huh... lol i can see years flying past already.

well i'll stop blabbing now... i could go on forever about being a Mommy hehe! until next time i'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get 8 whole hours of sleep :D *Crosses Fingers*

I can't believe that nurse was so mean! It's hard enough on us to have to watch our babies get stuck even when things go well. I wouldn't blame you for asking for another nurse next time!

She is such a doll. Grandpa Haynie (LaVor) says she looks a lot like you Beth. She melted his heart with one look!

You should TOTALLY ask for a different nurse and if it were me, I would complain, politely, about the other nurse!

Noah has had a ton of shots so far and it does get a little easier but I still cringe and can't watch them actually sticking him. Chris likes to come to the appts when Noah is getting shots b/c the nurses at our doctors office let him hold Noah down and that seems to make it a little better.

One time after a series of shots one of the nurses pick him up to comfort him which was fine and all but that is MY baby that just got stuck so I walked right up to her and took him away and loved on him. I think I needed to hold him as much as he needed me to hold him.

What a doll. I love that first picture of her! I can't believe how teeny she is! I bet her clothes still just swallow her up.
