So Jarom found this recipe and I was gagging just hearing the ingredients... nasty right??? But he asked me to make it for him, so I figured what the heck, I'll just make me and Addie something else for dinner that night. Then as it cooked in the slow cooker it filled the house with the most delicious aroma... and I HAD to try it. Turns out it is one of my favorite FAST meals now!

Island Kielbasa
Serves 4
Prep time: 3 minutes Cook time: 2 hours
1/2 C brown sugar
1 C ketchup
1 lb precooked Polska Kielbasa Sausage (I use Butterball turkey precooked Polska kielbasa)
1 can pineapple chunks in juice
2 C white rice (I use Publix Boil in Bag white rice)
5 stalks of celery, sliced
For easy cleanup, use a crock pot liner. Add ketchup, brown sugar, and pineapple chunks (juice and all) to your crock pot. Cut sausage into bite sized pieces and add to crock pot. Stir it all together well and let cook around 2 hours, stirring once if you remember (I didn't this time and it turned out fine!). A few minutes before you eat, cook your rice and while it boils, slice your celery into small pieces. To serve, make a bed of rice, top with the sausage/pineapple mixture with some of the juices, then top with celery pieces and enjoy!

This sounds yum, I love turkey polska keilbasa. I have a recipe that includes cabbage, sweet potatoes and turkey keilbasa. Sounds gross, but YUM. I'll have to give this a try.
And Livy sitting, we need to get together, been TOO long, obviously. She's such a doll!
I will have to try this! It looks so good! I must admit that I wouldn't have made it, but with your recommendation (and Jarom's) I will try it.
Mmmm, sounds and looks delicious! I'll have to try this one for sure. Thanks!
