Addie: "Mom, hungyy...num!"
Me: "No, you're not hungry, you just ate lunch, go to sleep."
Addie: "Mom... mommy! Want diiink (drink)"
Me: "No, you just had some water."
Addie: "Mom! Pretty buwd (bird)"
Addie: "Where dad??"
Me: "Dad's at work Addie, I'll wake you up when he gets home..."
Addie: "Mom! Book!!!"
Me: "No, we'll read when you wake up."
Addie: "Where Bobby?"
Me: starting to get frustrated "He's at home. Addie seriously, GO to Sleep!"
Then she pauses... I foolishly think she might settle down and go to sleep until my thoughts are rudely interrupted...
Addie: "Mom! I potty!"
Me: "You need to go potty?"
Addie: "...no..."
Me: "Did you go potty?"
Addie: "...no..."
Me: "Ok, then go to sleep."
Addie: "Nooooo mommmmmm, no night night!"
Finally after a few tears she settled down and went to sleep when she realized none of her excuses were working.
Potty training is going... not fantastically as I'd hope, but she has been self-initiating more. I've noticed if I let her run around bare bottomed she tries to get to her potty when she has to go. She's made it a few times and then almost makes it sometimes. It was kind of funny today because she ran into the living room where her potty was (I'd been trying to fold laundry) and she grabs her potty and runs back to her bedroom where she was watching cartoons and tried to sit down before she went potty, but didn't quite make it... crazy child!

Those excuses didn't come from the precious child I saw being so awesome at Youth Conference, did it? lol Funny how our kids try to use the same excuses we do! (At least mine do!)
btw, it was great to see you at YC!
I totally sympathize. I've had the hardest time trying to get Mark down for a nap lately when I KNOW he needs one badly. It is completely draining trying to reason with an 18 month old! : ) Good luck on the potty training!
Potty training...ick.
Losing nap time...ick.
Good luck and I'll be thinking good thoughts for you!
I feel for you. Maclane won't take a nap either. Occasionally I'll take her for a drive if she is really grumpy. Skyler says I should put community watch on my car since I drive around the neighborhood. Good luck girl!!!
She makes me laugh!
