Addie turned two years old on the 30th of November! It was such an exciting day for her! I let her pick out what she wanted for breakfast and then she got to watch Nick Jr. for a few hours. I tried to get Addie to eat waffles, pancakes, muffins, just "breakfast" foods but she insisted that she wanted corn on the cob for breakfast with orange juice, so that is what she had. Silly girl! She begs for the TV all the time, so I let her watch TV for a few hours while I got ready for her party. We had a fun little party Monday evening with the Mayfields' and my side of the family. We had cake, ice cream, and let the kids beat on a piƱata. Addie loved hitting the pinata and really enjoyed opening gifts. She opened the card first on the first gift and "read" it before she looked at the gift, which was really cute, but then realized all the fun was in the presents and so we read cards later. She blew out the candles all by herself this year (last year she didn't know how, but learned how to about 2 weeks later...figures).
Oh and I know everyone thinks I'm lame for doing polka dots again this year, but Addie picked out the fabric for her shirt when we went shopping, then picked out the balloons and other pink, green, and blue things, so I went along... Seriously who would argue over polka dots instead of Elmo or other themes?! Time ran short on the day of her birthday, so I ordered a plain cake and decorated it myself. Got to love Publix. I think it turned out better this year anyways. :) And since I was so short on time, I didn't get to get any pictures of Addie and the cake before the sun went down. Pictures with a flash are not fun but are better than none at all!
This was actually pinata #2. Addie picked out a cute ice cream cone but upon filling it up, it fell apart! So Bob ran out for me and picked up another pinata for the party!

Addie is a very big talker. She says anything and everything that she wants to. She speaks in sentences, and likes to tell me silly things. She loves being whispered to. Addie knows all of her body parts, can count to 10 (only when SHE wants to), her favorite numbers are 3 and 6, and likes to sing along with me to songs. We are working on the alphabet, and she likes to sing along with help. Addie loves to ask "what's that?" about everything and is constantly learning new things. She loves to hide, draw, play with her little kitchen and play food, play outside, and play with Mom and Dad. She thinks that if she can't see you that you can't see her and will sometimes "hide" by pulling her shirt over her head. Her favorite hiding place is behind the glider in her room. Addie loves to organize things by color and size and loves to make towers and such out of random things (today's tower was out of the cream, butter, and jelly containers at our table at the pancake house). We are also working on colors. If you ask Addie to pick a color out of a few she can pick the correct color, but if you just ask her what color something is, she will tell you it is pink. If you tell her to try again, it is purple. Pink is Addie's favorite color.
I still rock Addie for her naps and I give her a bottle of carnation instant start at night (per the doctor) to help boost her weight. She only weighs 21.6 pounds fully dressed with shoes, and in the buff she is around 20.5 ish. I tried to get her height the other day and the best I could tell was 33 inches, but she was wiggling, so I'm not sure. She sleeps in her own bed, but is still sleeping in the bed that is in our room. I was going to transition her to her room before she turned two but her bedroom is the coldest in the house, and with it being winter and her refusing to wear socks or keep blankets on, it makes me too nervous. I know I'll have to do it soon, but I'm going to wait for a little warmer weather, unless Jarom gets the windows replaced in that room before winter is out. Jarom and I really like having her so near us at night though! Jarom's suggestion for her outgrowing her bed she sleeps in now is for us to get a King sized bed so she can sleep with us but I think he's reconsidering after she slept with us on vacation. That is not my idea of fun, so we are going to transition to a toddler bed with the warmer weather.
Addie loves barbies (and always strips them naked), dolls, and stuffed animals. She doesn't have a favorite animal, she loves them all and alternates them around constantly. She loves cuddly soft blankets, so I found an amazing chenille type plush fabric and sewed satin binding around the edges for a big girl blanket since her baby blankets are getting too small to cuddle up in. Addie loves bubbles and loves bath time. She adores kitties and bunnies, and thinks both say Meow no matter what we tell her. Her favorite TV shows are Word World (she calls it Ruff ruff because the dog is her favorite), Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! (she calls it wuzzy), and she actually really likes Ni Hao Kia-lan which she pronounces perfectly, haha. Addie really enjoys being read to, and always wants "more books mom" or "again" at the end of the story.
Mawmaw got Addie a dog that barks "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and it was probably Addie's favorite gift of the evening. She started giggling when she pulled it out of the bag.

I've slacked some on her potty training over the last two months when I was pregnant because I was so tired. She still gets all her poops in the potty, but isn't 100% on pee if I put a pull up or panties on her. Not really sure what to do about it... she does great when she doesn't have anything on, but obviously that doesn't work in public and she still is scared of public bathrooms. Thank heavens church has "household" style potties in a few of the stalls. So we keep a potty in the car, and I really still need to carry it around in a little tote like I did when we first started training. It's just a pain!! Definitely my least favorite thing about being a Mom so far.
Time outs work fantastically right now with the "terrible two" moments. Spankings used to be all that worked for her, but now they just make her scream louder, so we now use a time out corner. She thinks it's torture and will do anything to get out of the corner, which works perfectly. She almost always gets put in the corner because she doesn't want to clean up a mess, so after about 30 seconds in the corner she wants to go clean up! The time outs are becoming less often, so maybe she is outgrowing this "fun" phase.
Addie's favorite "foods" are ketchup (she dipped her bananas in ketchup this morning... the ketchup was for her hash browns), black olives, clementines, apples, goldfish, pizza, pasta of any kind, salads (especially Caesar), and she'll eat everything green (okra, peas, green beans, etc) except broccoli. She loves cereal with milk, waffles, french fries, shredded cheese, grilled cheese with tomato soup...mmm I'm hungry. She doesn't like most meats and I can barely get her to eat meat with the exception of bacon (real or veggie), pepperoni, and steak (which has been less appealing to her lately). She must take after her vegetarian granddad.
Addie is very polite and says "tank you Mommy" for everything, "Yep Pam" (yes mam), and "pease" (please) all the time. When I tell her she can't have something it is always followed by "Pease Mommy pease!!!" If she doesn't want something she says "no tank you!!!"
Addie is getting better at being in nursery and stayed in the entire time the last time she was in. I peeked in on her constantly and she was really enjoying it, doing the motions with her hands to the songs and playing.
Addie also hates messes. If she drips juice she exclaims "a mess mom!!!" and wants to be cleaned up immediately. She asks for bib at the start of each meal. She loves to wipe down things and I peeked into nursery a few weeks ago to see her wiping down the table with baby wipes while the other kids played...haha! She follows me while I clean and wants Clorox wipes to help. She pretends to vacuum with her little ball push popper thing when I vacuum. She takes off her shoes when she walks in the house, and also likes to tell others when they are dirty (eek). She definitely takes after me with her dislike for messes!
Addie loves to make decisions. I have found out how that if I give her two choices for an outfit, a bow, or a meal, that we save a whole ton of heartache than if I were to just pick something for her to wear or eat. I don't give her options on dinner (she either eats what she is given or she doesn't eat- I make sure she has at least one Addie friendly food in the meal) but for lunches and breakfast I give her options. She is VERY opinionated about things that concern her. Addie loves to be dressed up and told she is pretty. On our way to dinner the other night I told Addie I was starving and asked if she was starving. Her reply was "No Mom! I'm PRETTY!!!" The same reply came when I asked her if she was cold the next day. Diva! She also tells me everything that she likes "is cute". Today she loved on me and said "momma's cute". Aw shucks.
I know there are a million other things I'll think of once I lay down tonight, but these are some of my favorite things about Addie. We love our two year old!
The babies enjoying their cake and ice cream

I forgot about the hat until the end of the party. Addie was ready to go to sleep by this point. She also picked out this hat at the store.

You did a great job on Addies party!! She loved it! :)
I love every last bit of it! Eden's party is gonna be polka dots too. I agree that you can NEVER go wrong with a good polka dot.
That shirt is slap-me cute. Did you sew the applique on? If so, how in the world did you get around those curls on the two?
I may have to steal the idea of this shirt for Eden if you don't object.
What a cute birthday party. Addie looks so adorable with her long hair. Hope you guys had a fun vacation.
Too Cute. Everything looked so nice. You did just a nice job. She is looking so grownup. These babies grow up so fast. I love the polka dots!
