Halloween

I wasn't sure how Addie would react to Halloween this year since she is still kind of small for Trick or Treating. She wanted to try her costume on while I was making it, but when it came time to actually wear it she melted down. Me being the super sweet mom I am...ha... put it on her anyways (amid the kicking and screaming) and escorted her to a mirror so she could see herself. She then realized how cute it all was and was happy to wear it. Little diva.

Katie helped me make Addie happy while I got those pictures. She loves her Aunt "Kayke".
That night we went to our ward's trunk or treat. I had to wake her up to leave and she wasn't too happy about that, but loved getting the candy. She wasn't very loud with her "trick or treats" but did manage a nice "thank you" for the candy.
Addie running from the little lion (Quin) that loved her wingsAddie was a little more interested in the little monkey (Trevor)Heading in after a long night of trick or treatingAddie LOVED trick or treating on Halloween night. She knew what to do this time and literally ran to each door, knocked on the door and told them "trick or treat". She loved getting the candy, almost shouted "thank you!" and did a little dance before she ran off the porch and on to the next house. We stopped about half way through to add another layer of long johns to her outfit and Addie started bawling when I took her costume off, so we headed out again. We got out a little later because we didn't think she'd be too into it, so we were out from about 7:15 pm until 8:40 pm when we came back to Mom and Dad's to see her stash. She did NOT want to stop, but it was getting late, cold, and her nose was starting to run.
Addie oooh-ing over her stash
I remember as a kid sitting in this same living room floor sorting my candy into piles. We made a haul every year. The years that Dad would have to work, he'd follow us around in his police car and had lots of empty grocery bags in his trunk. We'd empty our huge bags into those bags and keep on going. Our candy would last until Easter!
One house gave out popcorn balls (to even the parents-they had WAY overbought) and Addie wanted that as her treat. What a mess it made!
Addie finished off the evening rolling a ball with Grandma and playing ring around the rosie. She was h-y-p-e-r!So Halloween is one of Addie's new favorite things. We still have a ton of candy and this year I'm using it as potty treats. Next year I think we might have to start having "The Great Pumpkin" come visit us!

Beth you are So talented! I just loved lil Ms. Addie in her Fairy Costume but there was a certain someone who loved her more haha. Trev Trev was in awe of how pretty and fun she was at the Trunk or Treat haha. That picture you took of the both of them was adorable! Btw did you make her wings as well? If you did WAY TO GO! They were awsome! The best fairy wings I think I have ever seen for a lil girls costume.
