Today was Mother's Day. I love Jarom having diaper duty for a day!!! Addie made my day by showering me with kisses without me even asking for them, and I got some beautiful artwork from my dear daughter. She feels the need to color EVERY part of every surface and so my cards were very um... artistic... :) Addie and Grandma baked me a special cake and had a photo album full of the documentation of each step and Addie picked out a balloon and a glass dog (her thing not mine, but now I love it), but got too excited with the balloon and ripped the string off of it, resulting in a lost balloon... For our next family night, Jarom got these stepping stone kits to put Addie's hands and feet in so I will have those for my backyard walkway that we are working on. The plan is to do these stones every year until I have enough for a big stepping stone walkway.
I never thought I'd enjoy being a stay at home mom, Jarom admitted that he thought I'd have to work and that I'd go insane at home. But surprisingly to all of us, I love it. I went back to work for two months when she was little for insurance purposes and hated every minute of it. I was only at work for two hours, I'd come home for an hour for lunch to feed Addie, and then go back for two hours, only four days a week, but it seemed like I missed out on so much. I have my days when it'd be easier to work outside the home, but then Addie will give me a big kiss out of no where and make it all worth it. I now regret all that I put my mom through growing up and wonder how she didn't (and still hasn't) killed all three of us kids. I love my Mom and am so grateful to her and her example. I'm also grateful that my mother in law didn't kill my husband as he grew up, I have heard the stories of what a stinker he was!
Good news and bad news... my father in law can rescue all of my data from my laptop, but my laptop is probably not worth fixing. He said parts and such will be more than the computer is worth, and I know its true (its a cheapo computer)... So for now, I have to steal Jarom's laptop he uses for work once he's done in the evenings and wait to download all of my pictures until we have the monies for a new computer. Boo.

Happy Mother's Day! Where did Jarom get the stepping stone kit? That sounds like such a cool idea!
Hey Beth, You are a wonderful Mom! Lucky Addie to have you. I love stepping stones. It is something the kids will love to do for years and it is fun to personalize them. Michael's has great kits and if you look in the paper there are coupons for 40% off. Addie was a hoot picking out your 'gifts'. Such a sweetie. :)
I always knew that I wanted to be a stay at home mom but I really didn't have any idea how hard it was going to be. Worth every minute, but hard. I have gained so much more respect for my mom since becoming one myself.
The stepping stones do sound adorable. I need to make a path through a flower bed in front of my sidewalk. That would be so cool to do. Great idea!
You are such a wonderful. My little Addie is so lucky...and so is my big boy for that matte!
I'm glad that Dad could help you with your computer stuff...he is always rescuing me!
I'm glad you had a good day and I hope you can get all your pics back! I would be soo sad.
Debbie, Jarom got them at Michaels. They were on sale, $7.99 per stone.
Fun!
