Addie turned four months old on March 30th! I can't believe how time has flown! Over the last month her little personality has really started showing and she is so funny. She loves to play and now wants to be entertained constantly. She loves to watch cartoons and will "talk" back to you all the time. She really brightens my days and we are so blessed to have her as ours!
Easter Sunday Addie woke up sick, all stuffed up with a little cough, but I just figured it would go away over time but by this past Sunday it was just worse. So after she couldn't sleep Sunday night due to all of her congestion I called the doctor for an appointment Monday morning. While we were there I got them to go ahead and do her 4 month checkup since we had an appointment this next week for it and I didn't want to go in again. They said she has a bad cold and she is teething... When they went to do the shots, the mean nurse that did them last time came in and I told the doctor I needed another nurse because she was too rough with Addie last time. So we got a nice nurse this time and Addie didn't cry at all during the oral vaccine and only cried a little during the shots. As soon as I picked her up she stopped crying and just yelled out a few times. She has gotten to where when she is mad she goes "rahh!" "rah!" Just little short yells to let me know she is not happy. What a little booger!
She had a reaction to the shots this time and had a fever for a few days and her little leg got all red, swollen, and feverish. Her little leg hurt so bad the first day that the only way I could hold her to nurse was to stand up and hold her like she was standing up so that she wasn't laying on the little spot on her leg. It was awkward but it kept her from crying and so I did it! She is much better now and I've got her sleeping through the night again.
Addie now weighs about 12.2 pounds and is 24 inches long. She is in the 23rd percentile in weight, but the doctor isn't concerned. She also got to start cereal Monday. I tried it Monday but she didn't feel good and wasn't interested. So I tried again Wednesday and she liked it a little better, but I mixed it with a little bit of breast milk instead of formula so I think it was more familiar to her. She ate a little and then fell asleep and didn't nurse last night like she normally does and didn't wake up all night so I was glad when she woke up!
We have been so busy lately I haven't had time to post, so I still have to post from the Haynie's visit! Addie laughs now a lot and I love to hear her little chuckle and will do ANYTHING to get her to laugh as you will see in the video. Doesn't she have just the cutest little laugh? Ooh, I could just eat her up!

She is so sweet! I'm proud of yo for requesting another nurse. We must protect our babies from mean nurses! Enjoy your sweet Addie and record all of these little moments. It is such a joy to read in my journal about Forrest and Sadie when they were tiny tots. I can't wait to meet your sweet little girl!

Yay for you for asking for a different nurse. I so would have done the same thing!
I mixed breast milk with the cereal at first too. Noah ate it up like crazy.
