Addie's Blessing

Little Addie and her pearls from Daddy
I'm over it now!

Today we blessed Addie at church. Jarom gave a wonderful sweet blessing until Addie started crying and then it ended quickly! Addie wore a beautiful dress that Ethel and Mona (two sweet ladies I work with) got her and she also wore the pearl necklace Jarom bought her to match mine. It was the biggest ordeal this morning getting to church! Our new church time is 1 pm so I wasn't worried about being late, I knew we'd have plenty of time! So I am almost ready to leave and feed Addie so she'll be good during her blessing and wouldn't you know she throws up everything I just fed her when I burped her! I then start to panic as it is 12:35, she isn't dressed or even bathed, and then I had to start feeding her again because she had just gotten rid of everything I just fed her! I sent Jarom ahead so that they would know we are on our way. I finally get her fed and washed her hair while doing so, tried to burp her again and she spit up on her dress that I had just put on her, and it was already 1 pm, start of services!!! I quickly grabbed my shoes and pantyhose and got her in her seat and out to the car and finally got to church (with a huge run in my pantyhose, without half of the diaper bag contents, on the verge of tears). The whole church had waited for a few minutes and the bishop asks Jarom in front of everyone if he wants to get up and dance a jig for everyone while they waited... UG... could it have gotten any worse??? We got there just as they were passing the Sacrament and blessed Addie after. At least I made it there eventually! After church we went to Mom's for a roast dinner (my favorite- the leftovers always get made into stew with homemade bread the next day, woohoo!) and then we all crashed and took naps. What a day!

Every mom in the room knew exactly what had happened without even being told because it has happened to us all!! One Sunday I was supposed to be at church early for something and Noah pooped in his bath water. I took him out, cleaned him and the tub up, put him back in the tub and he pooped AGAIN! Needless to say, we were very late.

Addie looked gorgeous!

gotta love those kids. you guys looked beautiful though. i am so sad that I didn't get to be there for her blessing.

chase would never have the chance to puke all over his clothes, he would always be drenched from me squirting everywhere before he was ever done...i made bookoo amounts of milk...

Sounds a lot like my day. It is always the big days that something goes wrong and all your plans get turned around. Oh well, she looks so cute and she was blessed and that is what matters in the end (I had to keep telling myself that because I looked AWFUL the day Avery was blessed).

Does anything go as we plan? NOOOO!! Addie is so adorable, I so wish I could hold and love her. Hopefully soon, very soon.

Yeah, we tried getting to church early the day of Taylor's blessing, and the plan was for me to feed her right before sacrament meeting so she would be nice and happy. Well, I ended up only having time to feed her on one side, and I thought maybe that would pacify her for a little while until we could get the blessing done, but NOOO... apparently it only teased her, and she was very mad. She cried during the whole blessing! Needless to say, I don't remember anything that was said in the blessing, and I wish I had gotten someone to write it down!
