Leaning tower of tree

My Leaning Tower of Tree...

Jarom got in his head that we need a live Christmas tree this year for Addie even though we have a nice prelit fake tree up in the attic... It is a tradition in the Woody family to all go out and cut a tree and Jarom really wanted to start the tradition for our family, so off we go to the Christmas Tree farm. It was sprinkling outside and COLD and I was waddling around in a bad mood. Jarom pointed out probably 6 good trees before I was finally satisfied with one (I was being a putz).

We get to my parents house to drop off their tree and to put ours in stand and Jarom's brand new EXPENSIVE PDA phone falls out of his pocket only to be soaked and ruined within the time it takes us to find it. We get the tree to our home and get the lights on it and then it started leaning, but only slightly. Then as you can see, by tonight it is all but falling over and Jarom just thinks its funny. We still have to decorate it but that will have to wait for another day.

We had our 38 week appointment today and still NO CHANGE! I was so frustrated! Dr. Nix has scheduled for us to go to the hospital on Sunday to be induced. So think of me Sunday night/Monday morning, and hopefully little Addie will be here on the 2nd or 3rd. In the meantime Natalie and the other nurses in his office all told me to go buy some castor oil and drink it. They swore it worked for them. So Jarom and I head down to Propst after work today and buy some. I drank 2 tablespoons like I was told with some caffeine free Pepsi at 7:20 pm and waited and waited and waited.... I had 3 contractions, 2 minutes apart and then they stopped. I was just starting to get excited! So much for that wives tale! Jarom is trying to talk me into drinking the rest of the bottle but I don't think so... it feels like I'm drinking motor oil! So here it is, 1:00 AM and still nothing. Oh well, it was worth a try!

I drank some castor oil the nigt before I had Carden, but I was farther along, it was the night before her due date, and she came. They say it works if your body is 'ready,' as do all of those wives' tales things. I'm sorry, I KNOW you're miserable! I think Heavenly Father makes us so miserable the last little bit to make us willing to go through what we have to go through to get our little ones here. Even with an epidural it is no fun, especially the recovery. And we do this willingly?!!! :)

On another note, a couple years ago, I got our Christmas stuff out of the attic by myself, and I let the Christmas tree box fall. That was a bad idea as it bent the poles. Well, that year, the tree was held up by three strings that I push-pinned to the wall and tied to the tree. Luckily our tree goes in the corner of the living room, so I could somewhat disguise it, but it still leaned pretty bad. SO, I just had to giggle seeing your tree. Maybe it's something everyone has to go through at least once? :)

I so thought of you and Carly when I saw the full moon this weekend! I never tried the castor oil thing but I feel for you. I have heard it is like swallowing death.

I can't wait to hear how it goes this weekend. GOOD LUCK!!! and remember, it will all be worth it!

That is funny. I remember Diane "joking" about putting a little something in a batch of brownies for Carly and I when we were pregnant so that we'd go into labor. I really think she was serious though.
